Board of Trustees

PRMA's Board of Trustees is comprised of member elected representatives from high net worth insurers, producers and other affiliated groups who serve on a volunteer basis and are charged with setting the strategic direction of the association, overseeeing the executive director and monitoring results and finances. 

 Julius "Jules" Anderson Jr.
Jules Anderson is past Chairman of the Independent Insurance Agents & Brokers of South Carolina; Treasurer of Independent Insurance Agents &    Brokers of South Carolina; past President of Independent Insurance Agents of Charleston and served on several major Insurance companies advisory   boards and the SC Department of Insurance Coastal Property Task Force.  He is currently serving as a national board member of the Independent Insurance Agents of America (IIABA).
Mr. Anderson is involved in many community organizations and serves on many charitable boards.  Jules Anderson grew up in Columbia, SC, attended Columbia schools, and graduated from Limestone College.  He is married to Lynda Chitwood Anderson and resides in Charleston, SC.  They have three daughters; two live in the Charleston area and one in Greenville, SC.

 Ross Buchmueller
Ross Buchmueller is the President & Chief Executive Officer of the PURE Group of Insurance Companies, a specialist insurer serving high net worth  individuals and families across the United States.  Prior to founding PURE in 2006, Ross launched AIG Private Client Group and served as its president for more than six years.  Ross began his career at the Chubb Group of Insurance Companies, where he spent 12 years, and held several positions including Senior Vice President of Chubb Insurance Company of Europe.
Ross serves on the Board of Directors of the United Way of Westchester and Putnam Counties.  He is a member of the Young Presidents’ Organization and serves on the board of the YPO Fairchester Chapter.  He has been recognized by Crain’s New York in its annual “40 Under Forty” feature of New York’s rising stars and was a winner of the 2014 EY Entrepreneur of the Year.

Sam Cargill 
Sam Cargill is the Chief Executive Officer of Aon Private Risk Management (APRM). APRM provides personal insurance solutions for high net worth individuals,  family offices, trustees, charitable organizations and private companies throughout the United States.

Sam has over 30 years of experience in insurance brokerage and financial services. Sam holds degrees’ in Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from American University, Washington, DC; an MBA from Pepperdine University, Malibu, California; and is a graduate of the Executive Program in Management from the John E. Anderson Graduate School of Management at UCLA.
Currently Sam serves on the board of the BAB in New York and is on the board of the Center for Insurance Studies at the Mihaylo College of Business and Economics of California State University. Furthermore, he is also the Alumni Chair of giving at the Fairfield County Day School in Fairfield Connecticut.  Sam is married with two children, loves sailing and resides in Southport, Connecticut. 

 Ray Celedinas 

Ray Celedinas is President and CEO of Celedinas Insurance Group, a Marsh & McLennan Agency.  Under his leadership, Celedinas, which is licensed nationally, has grown into one of the country’s largest and most highly respected privately held insurance brokers.  Mr. Celedinas is a shareholder in Assurex Global, a prestigious partnership comprised of approximately 100 of the world’s premier, privately held independent insurance brokers who collectively write in excess of $28 billion in annual premium. In addition, he has been involved as a principal or founder in several national wholesale and retail insurance organizations catering to affluent clientele, including Private Client Insurance Group and Orchid Underwriters.
Mr. Celedinas holds a Bachelor of Science degree in risk management and insurance from Florida State University. He is an active member of the civic community, allocating his time and resources to multiple non-profit organizations that improve education, create jobs or serve underprivileged children and families.

 Bob Courtemanche 
Bob Courtemanche is Senior Managing Director,Principal, and National Private Client Practice Leader for Risk Strategies Company, a Top-20 nationwide Property +Casualty and Employee Benefits Insurance Brokerage Firm.

Based in New York,Bob is responsible for the national growth of the Private Client Practice focusing on the Risk Management needs of High Net Worth Clients and their advisors in the Family Office space. Risk Strategies has Private Client operations in wealth centers throughout the U.S..

Bob has more than 35 years of insurance industry experience. Prior to joining Risk Strategies Bob was Chairman, CEO and President of Ace Private Risk services. Bob was also former President of Firemans Fund Personal Insurance ,SVP at AIG Private Client Group, SVP at Personal Lines Insurance Brokerage and various management roles at Chubb Insurance. Bob has been quoted in The New York Times, Reuters, Forbes, Fortune, Fox Business News, CNBC, and numerous insurance industry publications.

Bob received a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Hobart College and attended the Executive Education Program at The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.

He currently serves as a Trustee of the Bonnie Brae School for Boys in Liberty Corner NJ as well as being a Founding Board Member of the Private Risk Management Association and Chair of the Education Committee.

Bill Gatewood
Bill Gatewood is Corporate Vice President for the Kaufman Financial Group and Director of Personal Insurance for Burns & Wilcox.  In this role, he manages carrier relationships and is responsible for the growth of their personal insurance division across the US and Canada.
Bill began his career with the Safeco Insurance company, rising to the position of Eastern Zone Underwriting Manager for Personal Insurance.  Bill also worked for Chubb in Underwriting and Marketing Management roles and The Navigators Group as Personal Lines Executive.

Bill is a graduate of the University of Central Missouri and an Army veteran.  He has volunteered for many charitable organizations and serves as Treasurer for his local school district. He loves the outdoors and spends weekends with his family enjoying the splendor of Northern Michigan.  Bill and his wife Julianne have three children.     


 James P. Kane, CIC, CRM
Jim is Kane is a Senior Vice President of USI Insurance in Valhalla, NY.
Jim Kane began his insurance career in 1985 with General Accident Insurance.  He has served in various roles with regional and national brokerages.
Jim is a graduate of the University of Notre Dame with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Government and International Relations.  He continues to support his alma mater with participation in the Alumni Association including as President of the Notre Club of Philadelphia from 1996-1997. He has earned both the Certified Insurance Counselor and Certified Risk Manager designations from the National Alliance.
Jim serves on the Executive Committee of the Southeastern Family Office Forum and as a trustee for Regina Dominican College Prep and the Private Risk Management Association. Jim resides in Newtown Square PA with his wife and family.

Lisa A. Lindsay, CPCU
Lisa Lindsay is the Executive Director of the Private Risk Management Association (PRMA).
Lisa is a Senior Operating Executive with 25 years of insurance experience in a premier financial services organization.  She has expertise in operational business design, client experience thought leadership and providing personal risk management solutions to high net worth individuals. Lisa’s success originates from driver for results, passion for customers and the ability to create high performing teams characterized by consistent high colleague engagement results.  Most recently, Lisa was the President of Marsh Private Client Services (PCS).  PCS is the high net worth Personal Insurance Division of Marsh a global leader in insurance broking and risk management.
Lisa is a graduate of the University of Connecticut and The General Manager Program from Harvard Business School.  She has been inducted into the YWCA Academy of Women Leaders and has ben recognized as an outstanding achiever by the NY Chapter of the National Association of Insurance Women.
Lisa is an active member of several non-profit organizations both locally and globally.
 Frances D. O'Brien

Fran is Senior Vice President, Chubb Group and Division President, North America Personal Risk Services. She has executive operating responsibility for the personal lines property and casualty insurance business that serves affluent and high net worth clients in the U.S. and Canada. Her responsibilities encompass strategy, production, product development and management, and P&L performance.

Prior to ACE’s acquisition of Chubb in January 2016, Ms. O’Brien was Senior Vice President, Chief Risk Officer of Chubb, with global responsibility and oversight for identifying, measuring, monitoring and minimizing operational, financial and strategic risks across the organization.

Ms. O'Brien has more than 35 years of insurance industry experience. She joined Chubb as an actuarial trainee in 1980, and served in a number of positions of increasing responsibility in actuarial, product development and underwriting, including Chubb Personal Insurance (CPI) Chief Underwriting Officer, CPI Chief Underwriting Officer for International Business, and CPI Worldwide Underwriting Manager.  Fran holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics and Actuarial from Villanova University.

 Susan Ogrodnik-Smith, CIC, AAI
Susan is the Chief Sales Officer for Personal Insurance and oversees the Private Client Group at HUB International New England, LLC.
Susan is a 28-year veteran of the property casualty insurance industry.  In her current role, Susan works with family office managers, high net-worth families and trusted advisor teams to assess the unique personal insurance exposures they face, and designs customized solutions for them.
Susan brings a unique perspective in working with high net-worth clients and brings 13 years of broker experience, in addition to 15 years of insurance carrier experience with the Chubb Group of Insurance Companies.  In her tenure at Chubb, Susan held a variety of leadership positions. In 1998 she was recruited to head up account management for Chubb’s nationwide “Masterpiece at Work” program, and focused her efforts on executive and member personal insurance benefits for employers and associations.  In 2000, Susan became the Director of Family Office Sales for Chubb Personal Insurance.  In this role she had the opportunity to work with a number of high net-worth family advisor teams in analyzing all areas of personal risk and management liability, and recommending solutions for them. And in 2002, Susan assumed responsibility as New England Regional Vice President for PLI Brokerage.
Susan is a graduate of Trinity College in Hartford, Connecticut and received her Bachelor of Arts degree in English and Philosophy.  She lives in Winchester, Massachusetts with her husband, Barry. Susan has her Certified Insurance Counselor designation and Accredited Advisor in Insurance designation.  She currently sits on the boards of Art Because Breast Cancer Foundation and the Boston Estate Planning Council.

 Gary J. Pasternack
Gary Pasternack is a Principal and Director of Insurance Advisory at Bessemer Trust, the multi-family office with over $100 billion in assets under management. In 2002, Gary joined Bessemer Trust to establish the Insurance Advisory department as an integral part of the firm’s wealth management platform.  Gary along with his team of insurance professionals works closely with the firm’s client advisors, legacy planners and tax advisors to protect and grow the assets of individual and family clients.           
Prior to joining Bessemer Trust, Gary was Vice President and Manager of U.S. Trust Company’s Insurance Consulting Group and a member of J.P. Morgan & Co.'s Corporate Insurance and Risk Management Department, where at both firms he specialized in designing and managing insurance programs for families, individuals, trusts and estates. Before then, Gary was a Senior Underwriter at the Chubb Group of Insurance Companies underwriting personal lines insurance.
Gary has been quoted in The National Underwriter, New York Times and Wall Street Journal on insurance and risk management issues important to the wealthy.

 Chris Peterie
Chris Peterie is President, Principal & Insurance Agent at Swingle Collins and Associates. He joined the Agency 15 years ago from the technology and litigation support industry.
While at Swingle Collins, Chris Peterie has helped the agency become recognized as one of the Best Insurance Agencies in the country by the IIABA (Independent Insurance Agents and Brokers of America), and the 10th Largest Insurance Agency in Dallas,according to the Dallas Business Journal. He created the agency’s Personal Insurance Practice and it has become one of the most innovative and effective Personal Insurance Agencies in the North Texas region.
Chris currently serves as a member of ACE Private Risk Services National Producer Council, The Chubb National Cornerstone Committees (Commercial & Personal).  He was also recognized as a Best Insurance Agent in Dallas by D Magazine.  Chris is an active member in the Salesmanship Club of Dallas, and Northwood Golf Club. 
Chris Attended Baylor University, where he met his wife, Elaina. They have three kids that attend Providence Christian School of Texas.
