Ross Buchmueller Appointed Board Member Emeritus of Private Risk Management Association (PRMA)

NEW YORK, July 9, 2020 – The Private Risk Management Association (PRMA) Board of Trustees has unanimously elected Ross Buchmueller, president and CEO of PURE Insurance, to serve as the first Board Member Emeritus of the nonprofit educational association. The designation grants all the benefits of a trustee without voting privileges. “I cannot think of a better way to recognize the contributions that Ross has made to PRMA and our industry than to ensure his ongoing advice and support of the mission of this organization,” said Jim Kane, PRMA president. The Board Member Emeritus position is a lifetime appointment.

In 2013, Ross requested that a group of agents organize a meeting with the leading high net worth carriers to discuss forming a new industry association. He asked that the brokers assist him with the work started by his team at PURE to create an independent voice for insurance professionals serving the risk management needs of successful families. Since that inaugural meeting, Ross has diligently provided his creativity, voice and financial support to the trustees and constituents of PRMA. His presence has been invaluable in the incarnation of an association from the seeds of an idea. His vision became a reality with the launch of PRMA in February 2014.

PRMA has made great strides since its inception. The association now has more than 2000 members who are involved in the high net worth insurance sector. PRMA developed PRMA Academy, an educational institution that provides higher learning programs in its ongoing commitment to educating its members. Members can access two industry certification programs developed specifically for professionals in the high net worth industry. PRMA also sponsors an industry award for expertise in private client risk management. “The strides we have made in the last six years would not have been possible without the leadership that Ross brings to the organization,” said Lisa Lindsay, executive director or PRMA. “Ross is a creative visionary with the ability to envision, and then create solutions that revolutionize the industry,” added Lindsay.
