Please join the Canadian Chapter for the presentation: Canada’s 2023 Wildfire Season: Extreme Outlier or a Preview of the Near Future?  An overview of the peril in Canada, a review of the 2023 season, and a look at the 2024 season.

The guest speaker will be:
Dr. Mark Hope is Guy Carpenter’s subject matter expert for the perils of wildfire and hurricane storm surge serving on the North America Peril Advisory team. Dr. Hope leads Guy Carpenter’s efforts in the development of the Guy Carpenter Wildfire Risk Score, providing guidance to clients aiding them in understanding the hazard science and engineering of the peril of wildfire and its effect on the built environment allowing for effective quantification and management of wildfire risk in the United States and Canada. Dr. Hope earned a B.S. in Environmental Engineering from Marquette University and a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from the University of Notre Dame.
