The Guest Speaker for the event will be Jordan Brennan, PhD.
Jordan Brenan is currently a Senior Fellow at the C.D. Howe Institute in Toronto. Prior to that, Jordan was Vice President of Public Policy and Chief Economist at the Insurance Bureau of Canada where, among other things, he Co-Chaired the Federal Task Force on Flood Insurance.
Prior to his time at IBC, Jordan was Chief Economist with Unifor, Canada’s largest private sector labour union, wherein he led the union’s engagements in macroeconomics and fiscal policy. In his capacity as Unifor’s lead economist, Jordan was an external advisor to Ontario’s Minister of Finance and to the Senior Deputy Governor of the Bank of Canada.
Jordan holds a bachelor’s degree in economics and accounting from Wilfrid Laurier University. His master’s and doctoral degrees, both in political science, were conferred by York University. Jordan closed his academic career as a visiting scholar at Harvard Law School.
He resides in Bloor West Village with his wife and children.
