Stabilizing or Stalled?
Understanding Today’s HNW Market

The high-net-worth insurance market is showing signs of stabilization. But this is not a true “softening” story... yet.

While rate increases may be slowing in certain areas, advisors are still navigating a complex landscape shaped by catastrophe exposure, cautious carrier growth, and evolving underwriting standards.

In this panel discussion, Katie Small, Miller, and Kama Moseley, Alliant, will share what they’re seeing in real time: from regional differences and line-of-business trends to how large, complex client portfolios are performing year over year.

We’ll explore where the market may be easing, where it remains firm, and what these dynamics mean for advisors and their clients. The conversation will also look ahead, offering perspective on where the high-net-worth market may be headed over the next several years, and how to prepare for what’s next.

Whether you’re working with individual clients or managing family office relationships, this session will provide practical insight to help you navigate today’s market with greater clarity and confidence.

Katie Small

Katie joined Miller in 2021 to head up the new Private Client team. She specialises in all areas of Private Client risks with a specific focus on complex and/or multi-jurisdictional assets.

Katie started her career in investment banking, working for a leading Dutch bank for the first 10 years of her career, before switching to insurance at the age of 26. She founded MWA, which was a niche Private Client insurance broker with a specific focus on sports, which she subsequently sold to RK Harrison in 2012. Following the sale, she headed up the Private Clients, Rural and Fine Art team within the wider RK Harrison group and undertook the same role on an expanded basis following the Howden acquisition.

Katie has four sons, so the majority of her spare time is spent on the side of a football, rugby or cricket pitch, and she also loves to travel and explore new places with her family.
