What we stand for

The mission of the PRMA Diversity & Inclusion Team is to champion advocacy for diversity, equity, and inclusion within the high-net-worth insurance community and all communities that we serve. Through an active and inclusive membership, we will look to recruit, develop, and advocate for diverse voices to educate and engage high-net-worth individuals on the value of personal risk management.

Our vision is a welcoming, multicultural, and inclusive community of insurance professionals that encourages, supports, and celebrates diversity within the high net worth risk management and insurance community.

Our objectives
  • Widen the net for recruiting from educational institutions in (or with) diverse communities.
  • Develop diverse leaders and professionals through mentorship, sponsorship, and training opportunities.
  • Raise awareness of and reduce the effects of unconscious bias through education and inclusive practices.
  • Market to diverse communities through agency development and risk management education.
  • Measure and develop benchmarks for diversity and inclusion in recruitment, training, promotion, and leadership representation within the industry.
  • Advocate for "allyship" in the workplace.
  • Be intentional about the inclusion of diverse members in the PRMA curriculum delivery, committees, and board

The committee has been a way to not just revert to business as usual after this summer's unrest and call for social change and justice. I strongly believe in the risk management industry's ability to affect positive change in ALL people's lives and my hope is that through the committee’s work that we would emerge with a sense of actionable purpose to be better, stronger, and most importantly to stand together.”
