LaTanya Simmons
LaTanya is Co-Chair of the PRMA DEI Committee. She has over 23 years of experience focusing exclusively on the personal lines industry. She began her insurance career with Safeco Insurance as a personal lines adjuster and underwriter. She then served as a senior leader in her family’s independent agency as well as in client service and business development roles at Marsh.
LaTanya strives to be a continuous student of her craft. Also, because of her varied experience and background, she has the ability to view the industry from multiple perspectives which leads her to be a well-rounded and seasoned professional. Her goal is to use her unique talents to enable successful individuals to make more educated decisions that create intergenerational wealth and financial peace.
In addition to her primary responsibilities, LaTanya has served as a speaker with the Financial Planning Association of Georgia and the Association of African-American Financial Advisors. She is also a member of the early career recruiting teams that connect interested diverse college students to the risk management industry. LaTanya is a graduate of Spelman College and she volunteers her time in the community as a mentor in the business cohort of the college’s mentoring program. She has also earned and held the CPCU designation for 20 years and has demonstrated her commitment to the Private Client sector by earning the Chartered Private Risk and Insurance Advisor Certification (CPRIA). LaTanya is an Atlanta native who resides there with her husband and family.
