Leading with Curiosity: A PRMA DEI Event
.png)
Private risk management is a relationship-centered profession built on trust, discretion, technical expertise, and the ability to understand client context.
This session will explore how curiosity, careful listening, and intentional communication can help professionals build stronger relationships with clients, colleagues, and referral partners. Rather than approaching the topic through politicized language, the session will focus on practical professional behaviors that support trust, service excellence, and constructive engagement across difference.
Participants will consider how family dynamics, values, communication preferences, cultural background, geography, worldview, lived experience, and expectations can shape client relationships and decision-making. The session will provide participants with a practical framework for leading with curiosity in high-trust professional environments.

Bring these into your next client conversation.
Use the PACE model
Pause before accepting your first interpretation. Ask one thoughtful question. Clarify what you heard. Then engage with the fuller context in mind.
Silence is not agreement
A quiet client may still be processing or need to consult someone else. Instead of "You good with that?" try "What would be useful for me to explain further?"
