Deon Hornsby Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI) CPRIA Scholarship
The Deon Hornsby DEI CPRIA Scholarship was created to further a core objective of PRMA — to develop diverse leaders and professionals through mentorship, sponsorship, and training opportunities. The scholarship provides an opportunity to increase the number of diverse CPRIA-credentialed individuals within the high-net-worth personal insurance industry.
Overview of the CPRIA Certification
The Chartered Private Risk and Insurance Advisor (CPRIA) certificate is the only certification program specifically developed for professionals in the high-net-worth industry. Endorsed by the Tobin Center for Executive Education of St. John’s University in conjunction with St. John’s School of Risk Management, Insurance and Actuarial Science, CPRIA aims to broaden your knowledge, enable you to give better advice to clients, and provide specialized solutions to complex industry issues.
Scholarship Details
- The scholarship allows a recipient to attain CPRIA certification at no charge.
- Scholarship value: $1,830 ($2,190 with CE credits).
- If selected, you will complete all six CPRIA segments starting with Segment I on August 31, 2026 and ending with Segment VI in August 2027.

Selection Criteria
- Must be a PRMA member.
- Must come from a diverse background — racially, culturally, gender, or disability.
- Works full time for an insurance carrier, broker, agency, or service provider.
- Dedicated to expanding knowledge and risk management expertise in the high-net-worth personal lines insurance industry.
- Complete the full application process by July 17, 2026.

The Lisa Lindsay CPRIA Scholarship
The Lisa Lindsay CPRIA Scholarship was created to honor PRMA’s founding member and first Executive Director, Lisa Lindsay. Lisa brought more than 25 years of high-net-worth insurance experience to build and lead PRMA and she launched one of its most important initiatives, the Chartered Private Risk and Insurance Advisor (CPRIA) certification program.
