How to Use PRMA Learning Tracks

PRMA Learning Tracks are designed to help you build confidence and mastery at every stage of your development in the high-net-worth (HNW) risk management and advisory space. Each track brings together curated educational resources, practical tools, and a knowledge assessment to help you learn efficiently — and earn recognition for your achievement.

Use this guide to get the most out of your Learning Track experience.

1. Choose the Track That Matches Your Current Experience

Each PRMA Learning Track is designed with a specific learner in mind:
  • New to Insurance Ideal for those brand new to the insurance industry or entering their first client-facing role.
  • New to HNW For insurance professionals with experience outside the HNW market who need to understand the distinct needs of affluent clients.
  • Leadership & Relationship Building Focused on communication, influence, and professional development skills.
  • Advanced Risk & Market Solutions For seasoned professionals seeking deeper technical expertise and sophisticated placement strategies.
If you’re unsure where to begin, many learners start with New to Insurance or New to HNW and progress from there.

2. Review the Track Overview & Learning Objectives

At the top of each track page, you’ll find:
  • A summary of what the track covers
  • Key competencies you’ll build
  • A recommended audience
  • A list of the track sections (e.g., Insurance Fundamentals, Technical Foundations, Leadership Concepts, etc.)
This helps you quickly understand what you’ll gain and whether the track fits your goals.

3. Work Through the Content at Your Own Pace

Learning Tracks are 100% self-paced. Each track contains a blend of:
  • Job aids
  • Articles and white papers
  • Pre-recorded webinars
  • Checklists and templates
  • Case studies
  • Practice scenarios
  • Additional recommended resources
You can complete the materials in any order. But we recommend moving section by section, top to bottom, to follow the intended learning flow.

4. Take Notes, Save Tools, and Practice What You’re Learning

As you work through a track, we encourage you to:
  • Download and save job aids for future use
  • Bookmark high-value resources
  • Apply checklists, templates, or frameworks in your day-to-day work
  • Reflect on how HNW concepts connect to your current role
  • Review webinars more than once if needed
The more you integrate the content into your real work, the faster your mastery will grow.

5. Complete the Knowledge Assessment

Every Learning Track ends with a short, structured quiz designed to confirm your understanding of the core concepts.
  • Most assessments take 10–20 minutes
  • You must score 80% or higher to earn your badge
  • You may retake the assessment if needed
The assessment isn’t meant to be stressful. It’s a tool to help you validate your learning.

6. Earn Your PRMA Digital Badge

After passing the assessment, you’ll receive a PRMA digital badge issued through Credly. Your badge is:
  • Verifiable
  • Shareable
  • Recognized across the industry
  • Permanent (does not expire)
You can display it on LinkedIn, résumés, email signatures, and employer bios. View PRMA Badging Criteria.

7. Revisit Content Anytime! New Resources Are Added Regularly

Learning Tracks are living resources. PRMA updates track content as:
  • New industry trends emerge
  • Carrier practices evolve
  • New webinars or tools are created
  • Best practices shift
  • Member feedback identifies gaps
You do not need to retake the assessment or earn a new badge when content is updated. Your badge remains valid and reflects the version of the track you completed. However, you’re encouraged to revisit the track anytime to explore new materials.

8. Move Forward to the Next Track When You’re Ready

Each Learning Track builds toward the next one. A common progression is:

New to Insurance → New to HNW → Leadership & Relationship Building → Advanced Risk & Market Solutions

You can advance through the tracks in order, or choose the next track based on your goals and role.

9. Ask Questions & Engage With the PRMA Community
