I spent seven years teaching before making the transition into professional learning and development. As PRMA's Learning & Design Specialist, I build the education programs, resources, and learning experiences that help our members grow in the private risk management space. My background is in curriculum design and instructional strategy, not underwriting or brokerage, and I think that's actually the point. I ask a lot of "would this make sense to someone new to it" questions, and I design backward from there. These days that means working with PRMA staff and subject-matter experts to turn deep industry knowledge into learning people can actually use, whether that's a course, a workshop, or something we haven't built yet. At the core of it, I believe good learning design isn't about the subject, it's about the people learning it.
